Noa's benefit concert in Milano (Italy)

Noa e Mira Awad chiudono la conferenza mondiale Science for Peace 2011 con un concerto speciale dedicato alla pace che si terrà a Milano presso l’Aula Magna Università Bocconi il prossimo venerdì 19 novembre alle ore 21.00. Le due cantanti hanno già collaborato insieme per portare la pace nel mondo, Achinoam Nini, 39 anni, conosciuta più semplicemente come Noa e la cantante e attrice araba israeliana Mira Awad, 33 anni si esibiranno insieme, un evento emozionante e gratuito, che la Fondazione Veronesi vuole offrire a tutti coloro che sostengono gli obiettivi di Science for Peace.

Singers, athletes and former government ministers cover themselves in coal to promote alternative energy sources with GreenPeace.

Greenpeace is opening an exhibit titled "Buried in Coal" at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque next week, in protest of coal mills in Israel.

The exhibit features photographs of celebrities, who volunteered to buried in coal "in order to illustrate the terrible danger of producing energy through burning coal," the organization explained.

Most of the electricity in Israel is produced by burning coal, and, according to Greenpeace, "the electric company is pushing [Israel] to build another coal mill in the south."

"The exhibit is meant to call on the primer minister to prevent the building of another mill in Israel, and promote clean energy alternatives," the organization said.

Amongst the celebrities who participated in the exhibit are supermodel Bar Refaeli Eurovision performers Mira Awad and Ahinoan Nini, former education minister Yossi Sarid, and Israel National Basketball Team coach Oded Katash.

In July, Greenpeace took over a coal ship headed for Hadera, and naval police had to intervene in order to safely deliver the coal to the mill.
