Achinoam Nini, plus connue dans nos contrées sous le nom de Noa, a quelque chose d’intemporel. Pourtant, voilà déjà 20 ans que la chanteuse israélo-américaine a explosé au niveau international avec son album sobrement baptisé Noa, alors co-produit par Pat Metheny. Chantant tantôt en hébreu, tantôt en anglais, elle a dans la voix une puissance et une sensualité envoûtantes. Exploratrice des sonorités, elle navigue allègrement dans plusieurs styles différents. Ainsi, elle nous emmène dans son univers aux influences orientales, glissant parfois du côté jazz, pop ou folk. Sur scène, la belle noiraude aux longs cheveux bouclés et aux yeux foncés s’entoure de multi-instrumentistes, et passe elle-même du piano à la guitare, ou de la guitare aux percussions. Une artiste complète, dont la tournée internationale s’arrêtera à Morges.

2013 is a watershed year twice over for Quincy Jones.

Claude Nobs’ alter ego for many many years and a human monument to the history of modern music, Quincy Jones will celebrate his  80th birthday this year. And it’s on the emotion-charged Montreux stage that he plans to celebrate it, thus paying tribute to his friend Nobbs. Appropriately, the highly symbolic final curtain on this 47th edition will be rung down to the sound of music orchestrated by a bouquet of guests and friends: the Globbal Gumbo, accompanied by the In the House Band and directed by Greg Phillinganes. An finally, like a red thread reminding us of the links, Claude Nobs’ adored Pepe Lienhard big band.

2013 is also a watershed year of recognition. Because today, 18 April 2013, just as the Montreux Jazz Festival programming officially opens, Quincy Jones enters the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A logical choice when you consider the breadth of his career, his commitment and his considerable influence on the world of music: a producer, conductor, arranger, composer and trumpeter, Jones was nominated 79 times for a Grammy Award and actually received 27 of them, including a Grammy Legend Award in 1991. 1991, another famous year marked by the last Montreux concert of another legend, Miles Davis. Because Quincy and Claude, co-producers of the Festival that year, had talked him into coming… Quincy Jones and Claude Nobs two great men whose names together stand for the ability to unify, a limitless vision and the same deep-rooted thirst for music.

Révélée au public en 1997 alors qu’elle endossait le rôle d’Esméralda dans la comédie musicale « Notre Dame de Paris », la chanteuse israélo-américaine Noa a enthousiasmé le monde entier avec sa voix sublime et puissante. Die in New York aufgewachsene und von Singer/Songwritern wie Joni Mitchell beeinflusste Israelin Noa feiert seit vielen Jahren Erfolge auf allen Bühnen der Welt. «Noa sings Napoli» heisst ihr neustes Projekt, ein musikalischer Ausflug in den Süden Italiens, den sie wie immer mit ihrem Partner und Gitarristen Gil Dor unternimmt, begleitet vom bekannten Solis String Quartet. Einen kürzlichen Auftritt in Hamburg umschrieb das dortige «Abendblatt» wie folgt: «Noas Schmetterlingsflügelvibrato, die festliche Wärme, die ihr Gesicht ausstrahlte, ihre Hände, die oft so beredt geheimnisvoll tanzten wie die einer indischen Tempeltänzerin, auch ihre klugen und eloquenten Kommentare zwischen den Liedern - es war fast zu viel der Schönheit. Selbst hinter geschlossenen Augen blieb der innere Blick wie festgesogen von dieser charismatischen Performerin.

CHIASSO - È Passaggio a Nord il titolo scelto per questa ventunesima edizione di Festate, il “Festival di culture e musiche del mondo” che si svolgerà, come ogni anno, a Chiasso nella piazza del Municipio. Due giorni, stasera e domani, una protagonista d'eccezione come la cantante israeliana Noa, non solo musica ma anche mercatini e solidarietà: è la formula che ha fatto apprezzare questa kermesse che, dopo avere superato l'invidiabile traguardo del ventennale, perde definitivamente la gratuità mantenendo, comunque, prezzi molto bassi e garantendo l'ingresso gratuito agli under 16. Ecco tutto il programma.

Oggi (biglietto a 10 euro) l'apertura alle 21 sarà affidata al Solis Quartet, ensemble napoletano tanto eclettico da avere diviso le scene con artisti diversissimi quali Luciano Pavarotti e Pat Metheney, Eugenio Bennato (realizzando anche un bellissimo album di riletture “classiche” di successi del cantautore) e Richard Galliano, Jovanotti e Andrea Vollenweider fino alla stessa Noa con la quale hanno appena pubblicato un album in omaggio alla loro città d'origine: Noapolis. Non sarà, però, incentrata su quest'ultimo disco la performance dell'artista accompagnata, come sempre, dal chitarrista Gil Dor. Si tratterà, piuttosto, di un viaggio attraverso tutta la lunga e sfaccettata carriera di un'interprete che non si è mai posta confini musicali così come cerca di abbattere quelli politici e religiosi. L'artista si era esibita al Cinema Teatro, anni fa, e a Como in piazza Cavour: come i suoi numerosissimi fan sanno è sempre in grado di dispensare emozioni cantando in diverse lingue e affrontando generi differenti (il momento dell'applauso più forte, comunque, è sempre quello riservato a Life is beautiful, scritta dal Premio Oscar Nicola Piovani per La vita è bella di Benigni). La prima serata si concluderà con un dj set di Luka Rudeboy e Raba di Retetre. E non è tutto: c'è spazio anche per le giovani formazioni di “Scena-off” nella vicina via Vela. Alle 19 il rock dei Soundfollowers, alle 20 la world music dei Masnada. Domani (biglietti a 7 euro) verrà ricordata sul palco la “Giornata mondiale del rifugiato” così come non mancheranno momenti di solidarietà grazie al mercatino Oasi. L'apertura, sempre alle 21, è stata affidata al folk-rock degli scozzesi Skerryvore, direttamente dall'isola di Tiree nelle Ebridi. Ci si sposta in Mogolia per ascoltare i Namgar, quintetto che pone al centro la voce quasi ultraterrena di Namgar Lkhasaranova. In conclusione un incontro davvero multiculturale, quello con la National Fanfare of Kadebostany che riunisce musicisti provenienti da Svizzera, Kazakstan, Bielorussia, Polonia e Romania. Ayant grandi à New York, Noa décide à seize ans de s'installer en Israël. Sa musique, inspirée par Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell et Paul Simon, est un voyage musical vers le cœur des ses racines: l’héritage de son Yémen natal, son éducation en Israël, le conflit intérieur qu’elle avait connu en tant qu’adolescente New-yorkaise d’origines mixtes. Depuis plus de quinze ans, ses superbes chansons surpassent les frontières et forment ainsi un pont solide entre la musique occidentale et traditionnelle. Known in Israel by her given name Achinoam Nini, Noa is IsraelÃs leading international concert and recording artist. Born in Tel- Aviv in 1969, Noa lived in NYC from age 2 until her return to Israel alone at the age of 17. Her family is originally from Yemen. After serving the mandatory two years in the Israeli Army in a military entertainment unit, Noa studied music at the Rimon School where she met her long-time partner and collaborator Gil Dor. NoaÃs strongest influences come from the singer-songwriters of the 60s, like Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. These musical and lyrical sensibilities, combined with NoaÃs Yemenite roots and Gil DorÃs strong background in Jazz, Classical and Rock, have created Noa and GilÃs unique sound, manifested in hundreds of songs written and performed together. Noa plays percussion, guitar and piano. She is married to Dr. Asher Barak, they have two children, Ayehli and Enea, and live in Israel.

Festilac Aug 2005 En Suisse A Collex Festilac : concert de la chanteuse israélienne Noa "Festilac", festival acappella unique en Suisse, est axé uniquement sur les vraies valeurs vocales et les prestations scéniques. Du jeudi 25 au samedi 27 août, la tente du festival sera installée sur le Domaine du Château de Collex. La chanteuse israélienne Noa s'y produira, samedi à 20h30. Elle chantera en hébreu ou en anglais, des mélodies fleuries, pétillantes de joie de vivre.
