Noa's performance at Mogol Awards, Aosta ((Italy)

Noa's performance in Masada (Israel)
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform in Israel at the foothills of Masada in a special concert on June 12. The internationally popular singer accepted an invitation from the Israeli Opera for the unique concert, which will mark the closing of the season’s Opera Festival.
The concert will include “Aida” and is dedicated to the support of residents of the Negev and the Gallilee.
Bocelli will be accompanied by musicians from the Rishon Lezion Symphonic Orchestra and the opera choir. The famous tenor will sing arias from popular operas and Neapolitan songs. Choir and orchestra pieces will also be preformed during the concert.
Guest vocalists will be (Noa) Nini and Mira Awad.
Noa is Israel’s leading international concert and recording artist. She was born in Tel- Aviv in 1969 and lived in NYC from age 2 until her return to Israel alone at the age of 17. Her family is originally from Yemen. After serving the mandatory two years in the Israeli Army in a military entertainment unit, Noa studied music at the Rimon School where she met her long-time partner and collaborator Gil Dor.
Mira Awad
She says that her strongest influences come from the singer-songwriters of the ‘60s, such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. These musical and lyrical sensibilities, combined with Noa’s Yemenite roots and Gil Dor’s strong background in Jazz, Classical and Rock, have created Noa and Gil’s unique sound.
Mira Awad is an Israeli Arab singer, actress, and songwriter who lives in Tel Aviv. In 2009, she was chosen to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest along with Noa, singing the song There Must Be Another Way. She was the first Arab to represent Israel at Eurovision, singing the first Israeli Eurovision song with Arabic lyrics.

Recently, she and Noa released a collaborative album There Must Be Another Way featuring both duets and solo tracks. Her debut solo album featured songs she wrote and composed, in collaboration with Israeli guitarist Amos Ever-Hadani.
Proceeds from the concert will be dedicated to establishing the first ever Negev Visitor Center, “Gateway to the Negev,” to be opened next year as part of the realization of the vision the OR Movement has created for the Negev & Galilee.
Founded in 2002, The OR Movement is the leading organization for the development and population of the Negev and Galilee. It was established by a group of idealistic young adults originally from Central Israel, who stand dedicated to modern Zionism, based on the vision by the founding pioneers of Israel.
“Bringing Bocelli to Israel is a considerable accomplishment, but it should be noted that he was very happy to receive the invitation,” said Manager of the Israeli Opera Chana Monitz, who, in her words, fulfilled her dream of holding the International Opera Festival at Masada.
“When I told Bocelli about the event and we suggested that he come, he said he would do so gladly and was very interested in taking part. We are thrilled.”
Bocelli’s last Israel visit was part of a visit in honor of the birthday of President Shimon Peres in 2008. Prior to this, the singer came to Israel for a gala concert with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta.
On Sunday June 12, renowned Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli performed at the foot of Masada with the Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra and the opera choir as the closing concert of the second international opera festival at Masada-Dead Sea and Jerusalem.
