Launched the website of the movie Pace of Peace

The cartoon is presented without words, but is accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack performed by Noa (Achinoam Nini), an Israeli singer, and Rim Banna, a Palestinian singer. They continued by launching a website: www.paceofpeace.com, where anyone, at any time, may watch and enjoy the result of the children's work. The main goal of the site is the worldwide promotion of the animated film "Pace of Peace" and its related documentary. Furthermore, the Italian Cultural Institute of Haifa has now started distributing DVDs and informative brochures about "Pace of Peace" in Israel and the PNA's territories.

Noa has recorded a duet with France's rising singing sensation Amine. The song will be released as Amine's second single from his current album. The first single has topped the French charts for four weeks. The original version sung by Amine can be found on his album. The song is called "Les Femmes" ('The Women") and touches on political and humanitarian issues. The atmosphere in the studio was fantastic and the result was even more so. The song will be added as a bonus track on the French release of the new live DVD and double CD, to be released in the near future

"Just a castaway, an island lost at sea..." The chords and the final lyrics had been chosen with success by the Israeli singer Noa and the Uruguayan Jorge Drexler, accompanied by the guitarist Gil Dor. Covering one of the most popular songs of The Police, the trio sent their own and opportune message in a bottle from an intimate stage .

"I'll send an SOS to the world", they sang, expecting that "someone gets my message in a bottle".

As the lyrics were in English, Ashton Phelps (Publisher and President of the Times-Picayune of New Orleans) could understand them quite well. Maybe he went back two months in time, and those lyrics may have reminded him of how
they felt (he and his journalists and photographers)during those days at the end of August, alone in a city flooded, devising and removing their information to launch an SOS to the world. The first days they published their journal through the internet edition, the modern version and less desperate of that "message in a bottle".

And Noa and Drexler sang: "Walked out this morning don't believe what I saw, a hundred billion bottles washed up on
the shore, seems I'm not alone in being alone, a hundred billion castaways looking for a home". The music adorned an emotional night, with the homage to Antonio Asensio and the prize al courage of the American newspaper, that Phelps took the opportunity to recall the ties of its city with Spain. He removed the watch from his wrist and showed the sphere, a copy of a Spanish coin, the picayune, that was circulated in New Orleans when the newspaper was founded, in 1837, and whose value covered the price of a copy of the newspaper. On the coin, the name of Carlos III was written in latin. "We give that watch to each person that has been working for 25 years for the newspaper", said Phelps.

Then Noa sang another phrase for him in English, from another song adapted for the event, " Milonga del moro judío" by Jorge Drexler, winner of an Oscar: "I try not to read the newspapers, because there's no death that doesn't hurt me". But if the newspapers don't exist, many times the world would not be informed of those deaths, almost always innocent, or of governmental failures as before and after the break of the dikes of New Orleans, uncovered by the The Times-Picayune.

At the Big Room of the National Theater of Catalonia, some plasma screens reflected brief images of New Orleans and titles news published on th the newspaper. "Under the water". And on the same screens the guests travelled from Barcelona through some images of webcams to New Delhi, Paris, Tokyo, New York, Cairo, Moscow, Beijing, Madrid, Jakarta, London and Seoul. "With each time, we increasingly become citizens of the world, connected by technological bridges", reflected the conductor of the act, Àngels Barceló, before turning around and introducing Noa, Drexler and Gil Dor.

And they started their performance with a song by the Israeli singer, "Again and again" to melt any lover or wife, or to touch a widow: "And I want to dance this dance with you,This crazy dance for two, And dancing I’ll pretend Everything's alright And you, stay with me tonight ...Baby... "

"And after the night, life continues and awaits another day", recalled the awarded Ashton Phelps, insisting on one of the large virtues of journalism. The future is not clear,he said, but what is sure is that tomorrow we will print another newspaper.

Noa guest of Massimo Ranieri's concert in Napoli (Italy)

MASSIMO RANIERI, Uno splendido spettacolo per la prima delle due serate di "Accussì grande". In scena con Ranieri musicisti superbi, dieci ballerini, l'usignolo Noa. Già regista dell’Elisir d’amore, Massimo Ranieri torna al San Carlo, concesso prima di lui solo a Claudio Baglioni, per “Accussì grande”. Autore, con Gualtiero Peirce, regista e protagonista dello spettacolo, che prende il nome dal suo terzo album-capitolo di un’antologia napoletana (dopo “Oggi e dimane” e “Nun è acqua”), si avvale anche per quest’altra perla della collaborazione dei preziosi Mauro Pagani e Mauro Di Domenico. Firma le coreografie Franco Miseria, le luci Franco Ferrari, i costumi stile varietà sono di Coveri. Il concerto-evento, che ha visto il tutto esaurito per le due serate, è promosso dalla Provincia di Napoli: “il ricavato della prima serata – spiega il presidente Dino Di Palma – ci permetterà di finanziare una mensa di solidarietà nell’area orientale della città”; la seconda serata è dedicata alla popolazione ultra sessantacinquenne, alla quale sono stati riservati gran parte dei biglietti. Lo spettacolo, lungo excursus nella canzone napoletana, propone anche i successi italiani dell’ex scugnizzo di Santa Lucia che ricorda in conferenza come al San Carlo, poco più che bambino, portava il caffè agli orchestrali. Sembra che il tempo non sia trascorso, e lui non dimentica gli esordi. Guarda caso, in “Accussì grande” Ranieri racconta in musica la storia di Gianni, un bambino di otto anni (Emanuele D’Angelo), la stessa età del suo debutto, in un continuo rimando di flash back e presente. “Il bambino è un figlio del mondo, sfruttato. A Napoli l’abbiamo sempre avuto il lavoro minorile…”. “Lo spettacolo è di prosa, e in scena ci sono dieci ballerini scelti da Miseria, e sei musicisti: le canzoni rappresentano il collante tra una scena e l’altra. Mi inorgoglisce essere al San Carlo, dove torno con la mia veste più consona; è per me la realizzazione di un sogno che coltivavo da tutta una vita”. “La nova gelosia” e “Dicitincello vuje”, “Tu sì na cosa grande” e “Torero”, “Te vojo bene assaje” e “Pigliate ‘na pastiglia”, passando per “Catarì”, per l’artista capolavoro di S.Di Giacomo/P.M.Costa. “Come ho scelto le canzoni? Mettendole in gola. Ha ragione Mauro Pagani quando afferma che con questi capolavori, dei quali io sono figlio, si deve lavorare per sottrazione, senza aggiungere”. “Tutto si regge su Di Giacomo e Viviani: sono il cemento armato della canzone napoletana, senza nulla togliere agli altri autori”. E “Dicitincello vuje” la canta in coppia con Noa, ospite dell’album. Spiega l’artista israeliana, capace di cesellare canzoni difficili come “Santa Lucia”, che ha tradotto lei stessa la canzone, maschile. "Canzoni napoletane, arabe, ebraiche, canzoni mediterranee hanno la stessa sonorità; la canzone napoletana ha un’incredibile melodia. Ho avuto l’onore di cantare “Torna a Surriento”, “Santa Lucia”, la mia preferita”, dice l’artista innamorata di Napoli che ne contraccambia l’affetto. “Avrei voluto invitare anche Nino D’Angelo, che ho conosciuto in occasione della trasmissione per Canale5, è assai tomo, è 'nu bello napulitano - spiega Ranieri che cita tutti i “grandi”: Mario (Merola) è un’altra fetta di Napoli, io un’altra, Murolo e Bruni sono un quarto dell’intera torta!…”. E il pubblico ritrova, oltre ai classici con arrangiamenti moderni, mediterranei, “Erba di casa mia”, “Se bruciasse la città”, “Da bambino”, “Ci vuole un fiore”, “Via del conservatorio”. Joan Manuel Serrat volvió a congregar anoche a más de 15.000 seguidores en el Palau Sant Jordi para compartir con ellos la reinterpretación sinfónica de parte de su repertorio. Como el día antes, el cantautor saldó con éxito ese segundo concierto en Montjuïc, junto al barrio donde nació y se crió y al que ayer citó de nuevo a través de canciones como Mi niñez y El meu carrer. El público se sumó gustoso al itinerario sentimental que el noi del Poble Sec recorrió de la mano de Joan Albert Amargós y en compañía de la Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC).

Con esta actuación, que fue retransmitida por TV-3, se cerraron los actos de celebración del 25° aniversario de EL PERIÓDICO DE CATALUNYA, circunstancia que fue oportunamente destacada por el director del diario, Antonio Franco, en el discurso de presentación. Y a modo de regalo de cumpleaños, Serrat brindó a los presentes un hermoso dúo con la cantante israelí Noa, Es caprichoso el azar, que se convirtió en uno de los momentos más aplaudidos de una noche pródiga en ovaciones.

NOA (Cantante) Se me hace muy difícil describir los sentimientos que me despierta este hombre tan increíble. La primera vez que supe de él era una niña, cuando alguien me pasó unas traducciones en hebreo de algunas de sus maravillosas canciones. Pero, en aquel momento, no habría podido preveer el placer y el honor que experimentaría mucho más tarde en mi vida, cuando él se convirtió en mi amigo. Cuando habla, su voz me transmite sentido del humor, delicadeza, sofisticación, modestia, sensibilidad y también cierta vulnerabilidad. Pero cuando se pone a cantar siento la historia, la pasión, el lamento, el agua, el fuego, la montaña, tanto y tanto amor, y todo a través de una bellísima oleada de poesía y de música. Editan una biografía de Serrat que retrata su lado más humano BARCELONA, 21 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) - La editorial Mina y el Grupo Enderrock acaban de iniciar una colección dedicada a la música con los libros 'Serrat. Material sensible', de David Escamilla, y 'Carles Sabater/Sau. Boig per tu', de Joaquim Vilarnau. Los dos libros de pequeño formato son una reedición y actualización de los especiales de 'Rockcol·lecció' que aparecieron en marzo de 1999 en el caso del de Carles Sabater y en noviembre de 2003 en el de Serrat. 'Serrat. Material sensible' recoge una "íntima" y "serena" entrevista-conversación entre el cantautor y David Escamilla en la que se "aparece la persona", según explicó hoy el propio autor. Escamilla, que ha escrito y colaborado en otras biografías de músicos, aseguró que el libro se basa en una entrevista "muy a fondo" que él remitió a Serrat y que el cantautor le fue contestando "poco a poco" y refleja cómo es la vida del artista, la relación con su hija o cómo compone sus canciones. El pasado domingo, Serrat fue invitado al programa "La Marató de TV3" que como cada año, se organiza para recaudar fondos para investigación sobre diversas enfermedades. En las casi 12 horas que dura la emisión van dando su testimonio tanto médicos como pacientes, y actúan diferentes artistas.

Y ¡cómo no! nuestro querido Serrat, como persona sensible y solidaria que es, no podía faltar a la cita. Y además no lo hizo sólo: se presentó con Noa y ambos interpretaron "Es caprichoso el azar", una de las canciones estrella del nuevo disco. (Gracias a Viky Teixidó por su información)

Pero no quedó ahí la cosa. Por la noche ambos artistas repitieron tema y actuación, esta vez para los asistentes al recital del Teatro Novedades de Barcelona. Todo un privilegio para los afortunados espectadores. Y como el mismo Serrat dijo a la audiencia: "vaya potra habéis tenido en venir hoy..."

Noa met Serrat in 1998 at Serrat's Tribute in the Spanish TV Show "Septimo" performing with Ana Belen & Concha Velasco a multilingual version of Serrat's hit "No hago otra cosa que pensar en ti". Serrat and Noa started then a beautiful friendship. Serrat is one of the best spanish songwriters ever. In 2000 Serrat was one of the guests in Noa's Tribute at the Septimo TV Show and performed a spanish-hebrew version of "Qué va a ser de ti." On 2002 Noa recorded a duet called "Es caprichoso el azar" with Serrat that is included on Serrat's cd "Versos en la boca".
